Privacy Policy
How ESCAPE collects, uses, and protects your information. Last updated: November 2026.
1. Who we are
ESCAPE (Ending Substance Cycles through Awareness, Prevention & Education) is a student-run drug prevention organization serving middle and high schoolers in ISD 279 (Maple Grove, MN). This policy covers escapeforteens.com and the email addresses we operate under that domain.
2. What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message content.
- Email: if you email us, your address and message contents.
- That's it. We do not use analytics, tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers of any kind.
3. What we don't collect
No accounts for visitors, no location tracking, no behavioral profiling, no data purchased from brokers, no social media trackers. If you never contact us, we know nothing about you.
4. How we use information
Contact and email information is used for exactly one purpose: responding to you — answering questions, scheduling presentations, coordinating partnerships or donations. We may keep a record of the conversation so future replies have context.
5. Who can see it
Messages are stored on our own secured server and readable only by authorized ESCAPE team members who need access to respond. We never sell, rent, or share your information for marketing — to anyone, ever. We only disclose information if legally required (e.g., a valid court order) or if someone's safety is at immediate risk.
6. Teens' privacy
We serve minors, so we hold ourselves to a higher standard. Our site collects no personal information passively, and we encourage teens to use our resources without ever identifying themselves. When a teen contacts us seeking help, we handle the conversation confidentially — within the limits of safety and the law (for example, if someone is in immediate danger, we may need to involve help).
If you are under 13, please have a parent, guardian, or trusted adult contact us on your behalf.
7. How long we keep it
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to help you and maintain reasonable organizational records, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
8. How we protect it
Our systems are protected by encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access (role-based admin accounts), and hashed credentials. Email delivery uses industry-standard providers (Cloudflare for inbound, Brevo for outbound) under their own security programs.
9. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to: show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Email [email protected] (or contact us) and we'll take care of it.
10. External links
Our site links to resources like SAMHSA and NIDA. Those sites have their own privacy policies — we can't speak for them.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. We won't ever quietly weaken it.
